One of the key elements of audiovisual narratives is their potential for impact. They not only entertain but also educate, provoke reflection, and can catalyze relevant changes. The reach of these narratives contributes to a deeper and more diversified perception of the challenges of our time, whether they are environmental, social, or political, and this impact has been increasingly utilized by voices seeking transformation in the world. However, there are still significant challenges to further advancement, such as the search for funding and distribution, ensuring representation and diversity in the stories told, and confronting ideological and political resistances. It is therefore essential that we continue to reflect on the role, potential, and promotion of impactful narratives in Brazilian audiovisuals, which come into focus in the debate proposed by this panel, with the aim of supporting and encouraging the emergence of new voices and perspectives.
