Music can be crucial in many ways: it can anticipate, move, create the right mood, tell stories that the image doesn't tell. This is the power of musical storytelling. In this panel we will talk about how this power contributes and enriches the original audiovisual narrative.

Laís Dantas | Palestrante

Laís Dantas is from Duque de Caxias, RJ, is a director, cinematographer, and editor. In 2021, she received two nominations at the music video festival, being recognized as "Emerging Director" and for "Long Format Video" with the documentary series "Chegamos Sozinhos em Casa - Fragmentos" by Banda Tuyo. She directed "Todas as Cores do Brasil," an LGBTQIAPN+ sports series produced by Kilomba Produções and Canal Off. As a director, she has worked on projects for Canal Brasil, Porta dos Fundos, and Quebrando o Tabu. In 2023, Laís made her debut with the short film titled "Desova," produced by Quiprocó Filmes at FICIP of Argentina, where she won the award for Best International Short Film.

Theo Zagrae | Palestrante

Theo Zagrae, musician and producer from Rio, 32 years old. I began my musical career at the age of 19, recording the Mart`nália's album “Não Tente Compreender” produced by Djavan. In 2017 I produced the single “Pra Sempre” for Lulu Santos and began working as a music producer till this day with great personalities in Brazilian contemporary music scene as Vanessa da Mata, YOÚN, Melly, Luedji Luna and Tássia Reis. Theo is a producer who always brings Brazilian characteristics to his productions, mixed with references from global black music.

Thais Souza | Moderadora

Thais Souza has a degree in Advertising and Cinema from PUC-Rio. She has been working in festival and audiovisual production for 17 years and has led Som Livre's audiovisual department since 2012. Since then, she has produced more than 4,000 pieces of video content, including around 350 video clips. In the last four years, two of his works have been nominated for Latin Grammy awards: Bivolt with the Cubana videoclip and Luthuly with the Fixação video clip.

Composer and pianist, Marcos Souza is president of Musimagem Brasil, the Association of audiovisual composers, creator of the international festival Musimagem, which is in its 10th edition this year, and project director of the Petrobras Sinfônica Orchestra. Marcos has produced and created soundtracks for more than 30 films, series, theater, dance and exhibitions such as the film about his father Chico Mário and his uncles Henfil and Betinho: “3 Irmãos de Sangue” by Ângela Patrícia, globonews films such as "Betinho " by Victor Lopez, "Alcione" and "Henfil" by Ângela Zoé, which won best PPM soundtrack, "Chico Mário" and "Ibiúna" by Silvio Tendler, "Abdias Nascimento" by Aída Marques, among many others.
