Video on demand (VoD) is considered the new horizon for expansion in the audiovisual market. It is a service that enhances the circulation of content and audiovisual consumption by users of mobile technologies, TVs and personal computers. In the last six months, much has been discussed about how to model a regulatory environment that brings together the best conditions for the development of this market in Brazil and guarantees legal certainty and regulatory equality for economic agents, so that artificial barriers to entry in the provision of this service are avoided or removed. This panel will examine the complex scenario of Video on Demand (VOD) regulation in Brazil, exploring the various aspects involving intellectual property rights, the formation of content value, the relationship with infrastructure services, regulatory gaps and the impacts on the dynamics of the Brazilian audiovisual market.
