The Influence of Fashion and Beauty in the Identity Development and Self-Esteem

Arts&Crafts Awareness Tendências Consumo Comportamento Moda e Design Saúde e bem-estar

Fashion as a form of expression can be used to relay messages and personal values, by becoming a powerful communicator that influences perceptions of ourselves and others. Personal expression through fashion is possible in sync with women's intellectual, sexual, and economic emancipation, in an authentic way and independent of social control, stigmatized by "The Beauty Myth". How can fashion serve self-esteem rather than imposed standards? What we wear affects the inside. How does fashion directly affect our mood, confidence, and task performance? And how do the systemic and relentless pressures of the fashion industry make its employees vulnerable to mental health problems?
