Against a backdrop of risk aversion, dominated by algorithms, remakes and spin-offs, there is an urgent need to reflect on the future of drama and the importance of originality in the audiovisual industry. Through insights from creative executives in the sector, we will promote an in-depth debate on the current state of dramatic works, on ways to revitalise the industry through genuine creativity and daring. We will examine the underlying factors that drive the risk-averse mentality and affect the creative audiovisual landscape. From financial pressures to audience expectations to the recent strikes, which way forward? How do we embrace the power of originality?

One of the main leaders in the Brazilian audiovisual production, with a solid experience in content development and production. Since 2004, she has been leading local production for major American players, as a head of original content. At Paramount, where was a Head of Production, executive produced the series Marcelo, Marmelo Martelo, Anderson SPIDER Silva, and the documentary Adriano, Imperador. At Netflix, she led series like Good Morning, Veronica, Most Beautiful Thing, Reality Z, and Brotherhood. At HBO, she built an extensive portfolio of premium content, with series like Mandrake, Sons of Carnaval, PSI, Magnifica 70, The Business, and Alice, as well as award-winning documentaries.

Executive and creative producer, Mariana Ricciardi has worked on over 25 productions, including the feature films "Infância Clandestina", by Benjamin Ávila; and "Abismo Prateado", by Karim Aïnouz; both premiered at Cannes. She is the executive producer of the hit "Minha Irmã e Eu", directed by Susana Garcia, starring Ingrid Guimarães and Tatá Werneck; and the thriller "Uma Família Feliz", directed by José Eduardo Belmonte and written by Raphael Montes. For streaming and TV, Mariana led the production of the third season of the international series "Lilyhammer" for Netflix; the miniseries "Amor em 4 Atos" for Globo; and the series with two International Emmy nominations "Impuros" for Disney, and more.

A key figure in the international TV & cinema arena for the past 18 years, Koby Gal Raday currently serves as BETA group’s Chief Content Officer, overseeing the group’s content strategy and its international co-production activities. Gal Raday served in numerous senior film and TV executive positions including: CCO of the Israeli TV provider yes, responsible for original series such as ‘Fauda’, ‘Shtisel, ‘Your Honor’, ‘On the Spectrum’. SVP International Co-Production at the European broadcaster ProSiebenSat1. Head of Drama at the Israeli commercial broadcaster ‘Reshet’. Gal Raday’s cinema credits include award winning titles as “Son of Saul” - Oscar for best foreign film and “The Band’s Visit”.

CCO of Anonymous Content, a full-service global studio and representation company. He shepherds the development and production of all film and TV content. Here he has built out Anonymous’ global creative footprint while overseeing Alfonso Cuaron’s Disclaimer and Taika Waititi’s Time Bandits, as well the adaptations of Nickel Boys, Neuromancer and East of Eden coming soon. He was the Co-Head of Drama, HBO Programming, responsible for overseeing the development and production of original drama series such as Sharp Objects, Westworld, True Detective, Game of Thrones, Our Boys, and True Blood. Before HBO, he was VP of Development and Production at Mandalay Entertainment and producer at Fuse Entertainment.
