Comedy is one of the most established genres in Brazilian audiovisuals and it reinvents itself from time to time, reshaping humor that resonates with audiences in every generation, be it on television, in cinema, or on the internet. Globo has played an important role in this renewal in various eras of national entertainment, and now it is returning to expand investments in the genre, which promises to bring significant impacts to the industry. Alongside this, names that have made their mark on TV schedules are finding new spaces in theater and on the internet, where a breeding ground for innovation in comedy has been created, exemplified by channels such as Porta dos Fundos and Choque de Cultura. To address this timeline of transformations and reflect on the milestones of each era, this panel will bring together prominent creators from various phases of Brazilian humor, with the aim of understanding where the future of comedy in Brazil is headed.

Caito Mainier | Palestrante

Porta dos Fundos

Screenwriter, actor, producer, director and TV editor, specialized in creating audiovisual products; program formats, script rooms and creative centers. Awarded with APCA (2x), RISADARIA (2x), nominated for EMMY KIDS International, nominated for the ABRA award for best comedy fiction script and screenwriter of the year in 2021. He is currently Content Director at Porta dos Fundos. Worked at Rede Globo, as director, actor and chief screenwriter.

Helio de La Peña | Palestrante

Creator of the group Casseta & Planeta, he acted as an actor and writer on the program Casseta & Planeta, Urgente! from 1992 to 2010. He was an actor in the soap opera Totalmente Demais (TV Globo, 2015). He is the author of 5 books, one of them, "Vai na Bola, Glanderson," was adapted for the cinema, in the movie "Correndo Atrás," where he was a screenwriter, actor, and co-producer. His latest literary release was "Aventuras de um Pijamão," co-authored with Adão Iturrusgarai. Helio wrote chronicles and Adão drew cartoons. Published by Almedina. He currently tours Brazil with his solo stand-up show, "Preto de Neve."

Thaísa Damous | Moderadora

Thaisa Damous é atriz, roteirista, dramaturga, narradora e professora de oratória e storytelling. Além de dar consultorias, tem aulas gravadas no curso de Negociação e Venda e Oratória da Conquer. Desde 2017 é produtora de desenvolvimento e roteirista na Hungry Man. Assina a criação da série “Cosme e Damião – Quase Santos” ao lado de Cézar Maracujá e Rafael Portugal, corroterista do filme “Cansei de Ser Nerd” - Paramount/Telecine, corroterista do longa documental “A Quem Interessa a Ignorância?”, fez vídeos para o canal Parafernalha, peças de improviso e stand up.
