Ron Leshem is a bestselling author, creator of the original series Euphoria and executive producer of the Emmy-nominated HBO remake. Co-creator of the series Valley of Tears, No Man's Land and Bad Boy, co-screenwriter of the films Beaufort, nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, and Incitement, winner of the Ophir, the Israeli Oscar. In this conversation with screenwriter Lucas Paraizo and screenwriter, director and producer Rosana Svartman, we'll explore his creative journey and how his multiple roles and search for emotional truth collaborate and interfere in his writing process. He will share how the original idea for Euphoria came about, its journey to being sold to HBO and working with Sam Levinson. He will also talk about his perceptions of how Israel has become a world reference for format exports, the future of the global industry and the opportunities for Latin American creators and producers.

Bestselling author, creator of the original Euphoria and executive producer of the Emmy®-nominated HBO remake, Leshem co-created HBO Max’s Valley of Tears, Arte and Hulu’s No Man’s Land, the upcoming series Bad Boy, Trust No Man (Netflix and Keshet), and Red Skies. He co-wrote the film Beaufort, nominated for the Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language Film, the Israeli Academy Awards-winning film, Incitement. He also created the drama The Gordin Cell – adapted by NBC as?Allegiance. While serving as CCO for Keshet TV, he picked up and ruled the development of the original Homeland, The A-Word, The Baker and the Beauty, Arab Labor, and many other critically acclaimed international shows.
Rosane Svartman | Entrevistadora
PhD in Communications - Cinema (UFF). Rosane directed the features “How to be Single in Rio” (1998), “Once Again Love” (2005), “Untangle” (2011), “Tainá 3 – the origin” (2013) and “Pluft, the ghost”, “Câncer, and Virgo rising” (in post production). She directed and wrote several series for cable TV (GNT, Canal Futura, Multishow) and for broadcast television, TV Globo where she was the head writer of “Dicas de um Sedutor” (2008); two seasons of “Young Hearts” (2012/3 and 2014/5); the telenovelas “Total Dreamer” (2015/6) and “A life worth living (2019/2020), “Never Give up” (2023). She has two Emmy Digital nominations, one for Emmy Kids - Best Series and one for International Emmy - Best Telenovela.
Lucas Paraizo | Entrevistador
Creator of the series “The Others” and “Under Pressure”. Wrote the films “Gabriel and the Mountain”, “Liquid Truth”, “Sunday”, “Divine Love”, “Divine Divas”, among others. Author of the book “Word of Screenwriter” and professor at EICTV, in Cuba, where he graduated. Recognized with awards for Best Series at the Brazilian Cinema Gran Prix and Biarritz Festival for “Under Pressure”; APCA for “The Others”, “Under Pressure” and “Gabriel and the Mountain” and Best Screenplay at the Rio Int'l FilmFestival for “Liquid Thruth”. In 2018 he was elected “Screenwriter of the Year” by the Brazilian Association of Screenwriters, standing out as one of the main screenwriters in the Brazilian audiovisual industry.
