What is the core of a story? Which elements are essential for a literary work to maintain its identity and still broaden its scope in an adaptation for audiovisual media? What is the creative and technical process of reading, analyzing, selecting, and recreating literature on screen? With the aim of bringing to the Rio2C audience the fundamental principles of adapting literary works for films and series, this masterclass intends to address the narrative aspects and lessons from successful experiences in translating literature into auditory and visual language. Topics such as structure, character development, feasibility of production, and artistic challenges, among other aspects, will be discussed.
